Professional Renewal

Many of us who are engaged in healthcare, education, leadership, community service, and social change experienced a sense of calling that first brought us to our work.  Yet staying connected to our calling can be challenging. Sustaining our commitment to serve others requires that we take time to renew our spirit and reconnect with our inspiration to serve — to reconnect who we are with what we do.

Diane Rawlins has been prepared by the Center for Courage & Renewal to lead retreats using the unique Circle of Trust® Approach for renewing personal identity, professional integrity and vocational vitality.  For nearly 10 years, she has helped serving professionals – primarily health care clinicians and leaders – gain personal and professional insight and growth that strengthens their connection to their work.  Most recently, in collaboration with respected colleagues, and utilizing the Circle of Trust approach, Diane has co-developed and led the Center for Courage and Renewal Health Care Institute.

The Circle of Trust Approach was created by Parker J. Palmer and the Center for Courage & Renewal.  First developed with public school teachers as Courage to Teach®, this approach is now offered to a broader array of serving professions.

Courage & Renewal retreats and institutes provide opportunities, individually and in community, for personal and professional insight and growth. They give individuals time to reflect and re-charge, focus on pressing work and life questions, support others’ personal and professional development, celebrate gifts and acknowledge limitations,  practice deep listening, and find the courage to live in congruence with their values, sustain professional integrity, and help their communities do the same.
